The Bulverde Community Garden is located on Cougar Bend between the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center and Bulverde City Hall. It is open to all gardeners free of charge. We strive to be a totally organic garden and our goal is to help the residents of western Comal County lead a healthier life by growing our own organic vegetables. Some of the garden plots are dedicated to the local food pantry, Provisions and to the Activity Center so they can contribute veggies to their Meals on Wheels program.
Held annually in June, the race was organized to remember the sacrifice's made for freedom. The annual memorial "Fun Run/Walk" is held in honor of Luke who was KIA 11/2/06. Bring the family out for a fun morning to walk/run 5K.
The Bulverde Community Park Features the following annual events:
Come out and relax to the tunes of a live band on the third Friday of the months of March, April, May, September and October at the Bulverde Community Park. Food vendors will be on hand selling a delicious variety of foods while the Splash Pad and playgrounds will be available for the kids. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets; then sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment. Music starts at 6:30 pm and ends at about 9:30. We are also part of the Christmas Lighting festival in downtown Bulverde the day after Thanksgiving, and we hold a special Christmas Holiday Concert in December.
Come out early pick your spot, get a movie snack or two, hang out, and enjoy park amenities before each movie. Bring a picnic for the family or purchase concessions while enjoying the movie.
The at-dusk, free movies are sponsored by the Bulverde Police Department, the Mammen Family Public Library, and the Friends of the Park; our goals are to enhance the community's safety and quality of life. Through community centered family events--like the Movies in the Park, Bulverde opens its recreational doors to residents, visitors, and families in the surrounding communities. The movie events held at the park are instrumental in creating a feeling of community and providing healthy activities.
Hosted by the Spring Branch Bulverde Family Lions Club and the City, the Day of Services, held annually on the 1st Saturday in August, is a day for Bulverde-area residents to come to the Community Park to receive various low-cost and free services from local service providers and for kiddos to receive some free school supplies.
This is a day of community outreach, planned for the benefit of Bulverde-area residents. All services are being provided for free or at a reduced rate as a courtesy to our neighbors.
All are invited. There is no admission to this event. In addition to the services, concessions may be available for purchase, and there will be lots of fun playground equipment at the park, including a splash pad--so you may want to bring a change of clothes for the kiddos should they decide to get wet!
Held annually in December, the race 5k Run & Walk benefits the Bulverde Food Pantry (dba Provisions). Bring the family out to the park for a fun morning to walk/run 5K.
